The Timeshare Resale Market

Are you considering a purchase or sale into the timeshare resale market? Whether you're buying or selling a timeshare, you will really appreciate the following brief story.

I booked a resort on three separate occasions with Expedia and Travelocity. Being that I preferred resorts to hotels, it was just the smart thing to do.

In time I was invited to a timeshare presentation, and that's when my eyes were opened. The maintenance fees and loan payment deflated my expectations pretty fast. On top of that, my timeshare salesman told me I would need to pay upgrade fees for the location and week that I really wanted. No thank you.

After a little online digging, I discovered that there were quite a few organizations offering deep discount resort memberships without the timeshare ownership costs. The cost and benefits of a higher quality resort membership was even more attractive than the timeshare resale market.

This was the best of both worlds. I absolutely love staying at resorts, but now I can dodge those timeshare fees completely.

So that's my story. Owning a discount resort membership is the best way to enjoy the widest variety of resorts during the weeks you want to travel, all without ever needing to pay for a timeshare upgrade.
